I would truly love to see no more homelessness. How can we abolish that? I would like to see more programs for the youths to keep them active and off the streets. More help for the elderly and assistance with keeping them safe from crime.
Ms. Priestley,
I wholeheartedly agree that Homelessness must be eradicated. The answer is multifaceted.
Mental Health and support services must be increased and adequately funded
Affordable Housing must be made available by increasing and funding more housing programs
Education and Employment must be made adequate and universally available
I would also like to see more programs for our youth to keep them active, educated empowered and off the streets.
This should be a concerted and coordinated effort between the Department of Education,
Community efforts like those currently under the umbrella of Law Enforcement and private organizations which already do so much with so little funding.
Our Elderly population is an undervalued community resource. I would love to see them become a part of the solution.
We can draw on their individual knowledge and experience to help shape and guide our future.
We must create and adequately fund programs that bring together our youth and our elderly community members in ways that would benefit all of us.
Thank you for your comments, Sophia and thank you for your patience and I hope to see you standing side by side with all who want to change this great city, our home, into the city that should be.
God Bless you and family
Public safety is a major that plaguing our community. We need solutions fast.
Public safety is a major problem that’s plaguing our community, we need solutions fast.
Ms Kinsey,
You are absolutely correct. No civilization has ever become “great’ without the kind of foundation that can only be achieved when Public Safety is not a problem. We must act urgently. This is a matter that must be addressed immediately through a coordinated and creative effort that brings together all of our best. We must build a better relationship between our communities and police. We must invest in community partnerships, public and private, that work to bring everyone together, implement safety measures and resources for our youth and elderly, for our small and large businesses, for our private citizens and our institutions.
Thank you Regina. I look forward to the day when you and I can stand together and demand that funding be provided for positive and creative ways to make Public safety a reality. God Bless and keep you and family.
You got my vote always, keep up the good work.
Thank you Moses, We appreciate your support and stand with you.
My older brother got jumped by gang members one day, while walking home from the bus stop. He was hospitalized for a week due to his injuries. The reason, he was wearing a red shirt as part of his school uniform in an area that is controlled by a gang that wears blue. My brother knew this but school officials didn’t. If my brother had been granted the simple freedom to choose his own clothes, it would ‘ve save him a lot of pain and suffering.
LET’S STOP GUN AND GANG VIOLENCE.
Mr. Muhammid,
Thank you for sharing your story. My heart goes out to you and your family for having had to endure such a senseless, traumatic experience.
My sincerest hope you and your family can recover from that unfortunate and pointless experience. We Must address Gun and Gang Violence not only on the streets but in our schools and prisons as well. We can begin to make a difference by creating viable alternatives for our youth and rehabilitating and embracing those who have already become gang members. None in this city, or this country, should fear walking freely through any neighborhood for any reason.
When elected my first priority will be to work towards curbing and eventually eliminating Gun and Gang Violence. I intend to bring all parties to the table and look for real solutions. Solutions that respect every citizen and that have long lasting beneficial effects for the entire community. Jobs, education and community service will be at the forefront of my efforts.
Malik, I hope to see you and your brother standing beside me when we fight for legislation and the funding that will make Gun and Gang Violence a thing of the past. May God Bless you and your family.

Animal rights
Allie,
It is not a misstatement to say that the life and well being of any animal is a direct reflection on the life and well being of every human being on earth. They are not only under our custodial care, they are members of our families, members of our society and active participants in every facet of our lives.
It goes without saying that Animal Rights should and must be preserved in every circumstance and in every way possible. I stand with you on this issue and I hope to see you when we fight for legislation that provides further protections to our extended family – My son and his dog
A greater commitment to public education such as smaller classes and more resources for both students and teachers. Since so much learning is now done on line, public education must include free, or low-cost, technology for students (such as lap tops computers) as well as access to high-speed internet in their neighborhoods. After school recreational and educational programs are also a must so that our youth can compete and succeed.
Mr. Krase,
As we all know, education is the key that opens all doors and raise all ceilings. Our teachers currently have to wear several hats in order to educate our children while also dealing with the needs of parents and the innumerable procedures and red tape necessitated by DOE protocol. Our children are usually the ones to suffer in the end.
I would like to work towards some level of community control of our schools and greater parent involvement. This should be a concerned and coordinated effort between the Department of Education, community efforts and private organization which already do so much with so little funding.
Jerome, I hope you will lend your voice to the search and implementation of a solution. I look forward to standing side by side with you and other concerned members of our community. Together we can and will.
My name is Alala . I believe my former employer fired me after 21 years of dedicated service for being too old. Due to my loss of income, my husband and I had to move to a more affordable apartment for our retirement. I’m currently under care with a Psychiatric NP diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, secondary to circumstances related to my former life-long employment. An attorney told me I’m the victim of classic employment discrimination or ‘ageism. Age discrimination in the workplace is the practice of letting a person’s age unfairly become a factor when deciding who receives a new job, promotion, or terminating employees based on their age. Ageism is one of the most pervasive forms of discrimination in the workplace today, but it’s also one of the most under the radar. I thank Ms. Morgan for helping me fight ageism.
Alala Adaeze,
Thank you so much for addressing this demeaning and senseless issue. It is unfortunate that any employee on any job find themselves being discriminated against for any reason but, the prevalence and depth associated with ageism leaves one breathless.
It is well known that older employees are often under paid (for having started at lower wages) and more often than not, tasked with training and mentoring the younger employees and instead of being promoted and celebrated for their expertise they are pushed out like yesterday’s newspaper.
It is for this reason that I intend to support legislation that would put in place a system of protection for the gainfully employed elder population. There can be no reason to terminate any employee without just cause and “age is not one of these. We must, as a society, honor and respect our elders and protect them against any form of violence, including discrimination.
Alala, I look forward to working with you until this never happens to anyone ever again. Good Trouble! God Bless you.
One small ask, Please wear a mask.
BETTTER schools and education is what we need!
Mr. Celestin,
Thank you for your comment. We need greater community involvement within the Department of Education. I would like to work towards parent involvement in things such as parent and child homework assistance and real transparency with regard to the establishment of curriculum and choices of resource materials including textbooks. I would also endorse any legislation or program that would help students and their families obtain computers, laptops, tablets and high speed internet connection.
This should be a concerted and coordinated effort between the Department of Education, community efforts and private organizations which already do so much for the community.
Fritz, I hope to see you at the forefront when we demand change. Let’s take Back our schools!
I am looking forward to be a part of Ms.Vivia Morgan foot solider and, to contribute my time for her to be the next elected New York Council of the 40th District.
